Inner diameter size measuremen

Using a caliper: Insert the two measuring claws of the caliper into the inner ring of the oil seal, ensure that the measuring claws fit tightly against the inner ring of the oil seal, and the measuring direction is perpendicular to the axis of the oil seal. Read the value on the caliper, which is the inner diameter size of the oil seal. To ensure the accuracy of the measurement, measure 3 times at different positions and take the average value.

Using an inside diameter micrometer: For measurements with higher precision requirements, an inside diameter micrometer can be used. Place the measuring head of the inside diameter micrometer into the inner ring of the oil seal, adjust the position of the measuring head so that it is in full contact with the inner ring wall and remains perpendicular, and read the value on the micrometer. Similarly, measure multiple times at different positions and take the average value.

Measuring the outer diameter

Using a caliper: clamp the measuring jaws of the caliper on the outer ring of the oil seal, so that the measuring jaws are in close contact with the surface of the outer ring of the oil seal, and the measuring direction is perpendicular to the axis of the oil seal, and read the caliper value to obtain the outer diameter size. Using an outside diameter micrometer: If more accurate measurement is required, an outside diameter micrometer can be used. Place the oil seal on a stable platform, and gently clamp the outer ring of the oil seal with the measuring anvil and measuring screw of the outside diameter micrometer to ensure that the measuring position is accurate and the measuring force is moderate, and read the micrometer reading. Also measure at multiple positions and take the average value.

Width dimension measurement

Use caliper: Place the measuring jaws of the caliper perpendicular to the end face of the oil seal, and measure the distance between the two end faces of the oil seal, which is the width dimension. When measuring, make sure that the measuring jaws of the caliper are completely in contact with the end face of the oil seal, and the measuring direction is parallel to the axis of the oil seal. To ensure accuracy, measure about 3 times at different positions on the circumference of the oil seal and take the average value.

Use height gauge: If the width of the oil seal is large or the measurement accuracy is high, use a height gauge for measurement. Place the oil seal flat on the platform, make the measuring head of the height gauge perpendicular to the end face of the oil seal, measure the distance between the upper and lower end faces of the oil seal, and read the value of the height gauge. It is also necessary to perform multiple measurements at different positions and take the average value.
