Plastic coloring products package fading? These factors have a big impact!

Light resistance of colorants
Colorant light resistance directly affects the fading, outdoor products require high light resistance level!
Resin light resistance is also key, ultraviolet light will make the resin fade, plus light stabilizer can be improved!

Heat Resistance
Heat-resistant pigments are not easy to lose weight, change color or fade under processing temperature.
 

Inorganic vs Organic Pigments
Inorganic pigments are composed of metal oxides and salts, with good thermal stability and high heat resistance.
Organic pigments change molecular structure under high temperature and are easy to decompose.

Oxidation resistance
Some organic pigments undergo degradation of macromolecules or other changes after oxidation and gradually fade out, one is high temperature oxidation in processing, and the other is oxidation when encountering strong oxidizing agent (e.g. chromic acid root in chrome yellow). The red color will gradually fade when color precipitate, azo pigment and chrome yellow are mixed.

Acid and alkali resistance
The coloring agent should be chosen well! Acid and alkali resistance and redox resistance are important. Molybdenum chrome red is resistant to dilute acid but afraid of alkali, while cadmium yellow is not resistant to acid, so it is very important to choose the right pigment!
Processing conditions and usage requirements must also be considered. Pigments, dyes, surfactants...all of these have to be selected according to the specific situation in order to prevent color fading!
